Land Buyer

Southern (Leatherhead & Beaconsfield)

Work as part of a fast paced, entrepreneurial team where decisions and deals can be made quickly and competitively.

We are looking for a Land Buyer to join our Southern Land team to source and acquire land and development opportunities across Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

The role will predominately be based from Beaconsfield working alongside our in-house planners and architect, with some time also spent in our Leatherhead office. Therefore, you will be happy to commute between both locations.

About the role

As Land Buyer you will report directly to the Land Director assisting with:

  • Selecting locations to undertake land searches, taking into consideration market values, planning potential, local plan policies etc
  • Identifying potential sites with an assessment of the technical and planning constraints
  • Gaining a good understanding of local plans and potential planning permissions and scope to improve existing planning consents
  • Making initial contact with landowners or their agents
  • Collating information and preparing land exchange packs
  • Building effective working relationships with local authorities, agents, landowners and land agents to keep up to date on current and future market opportunities
  • Appraising new opportunities and conducting market research for new and existing opportunities

About you

  • Previous experience of sourcing and buying residential land sites
  • Knowledge of current planning and government legislation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Adept, confident and clear communicator
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Deal driven
  • Good local knowledge of the area.
