What is the discount?

If you're a front-line Key Worker or member of the Armed Forces, you could be eligible for a £500 discount for every £25,000 you spend on a new Shanly home, up to a maximum of £20,000.

Example

On a home priced at £250,000 home you could receive a £5,000 discount.

£250,000 divided by £25,000 = 10

10 x £500 discount = £5,000

Property purchase price with discount = £245,000

As an additional bonus, we offer a reduced reservation fee of just £500 for those using the Key Worker Discount scheme.

How to apply

Choose your new Shanly home

Explore our website to discover new build developments in your chosen location. Once you know which development you’d like to call home, call our friendly sales consultants who will be happy to arrange an appointment for you to view. Don’t forget to tell them that you are interested in the Key Worker Discount scheme.

Before your visit

Before your visit, we recommend you speak to an independent financial or mortgage advisor who will be able to establish your exact buying position helping you to secure the house you want. Our mortgage calculator tool is very handy for a quick check of what you may be able to afford with the Key Worker Discount scheme.

Visit your chosen development and reserve your new home

Once you’ve chosen your perfect new Shanly home, qualified for the Key Worker Discount scheme and have a mortgage agreed, you’ll be ready to pay your reservation fee and reserve your new home.

Terms and conditions

1. As a Key Worker/Armed Forces personnel you will receive a discount of £500 for every £25,000 you spend on a home, up to a maximum contribution of 2% of the property value.

2. This offer is available to UK Armed Forces and Key Worker personnel who have completed their basic (phase 1) training and are one of the following:

  • Regular service personnel (including Military Provost Guard Service, in the Navy, Army and Air Force).
  • All NHS clinical staff.
  • Uniformed staff in the Defence Fire Service.
  • A worker who fulfils a role regarded as vital for the community, in the health, education, security, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Ex-Regular service personnel who have served in the Armed Forces for a minimum of six years can produce a Discharge Certificate (or similar documentation) as proof, where they apply within 12 months of the date of the discharge from service.
  • The surviving partners of Regular service personnel who have died in service, where they apply within 12 months of the date of being bereaved.

3. Armed Forces personnel also have access to the forces Help to Buy scheme which was made a permanent scheme in Jan 2023. This offer can be used in conjunction with the Armed Forces Help to Buy scheme.

4. You must be able to provide 3 months’ worth of pay slips that clearly states that you work in the one of the services listed below.

  • Armed Forces
  • Special Needs Education
  • State Education
  • Fire Service
  • Foster Carer
  • NHS
  • Police Force
  • Prison Service
  • Probation Service
  • RNLI

5. RNLI volunteers must be able to show their RNLI crew member credentials.

6. Foster carers must be able to show up-to-date evidence of their foster caring status.

7. Eligible purchasers must declare their intention to claim the discount at the time of reserving a property and before any other offer is applied.

8. Shanly Homes reserve the right to withdraw or alter the terms of this offer at any time prior to the payment of a reservation fee and we reserve the right to vary the terms prior to the payment of a reservation fee. We also reserve the right to vary the terms of the offer to meet the requirement of the purchaser where we consider it reasonable to do so.

9. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers and is not available on Shared Ownership properties.

10. The offer is available on selected homes and developments only.

11. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with other selected offers. Please speak with one of our Sales Consultants for further details.

12. This offer is available on residential properties to eligible purchasers buying the property with cash or with the aid of a mortgage (eligible purchasers must meet their lender’s mortgage eligibility criteria however.

13. This offer is not available on Buy to Let properties.

14. Purchasers must be over 18 years of age.
