Staines-upon-Thames is a vibrant and accessible market town located in northwest Surrey. Based on the banks of the River Thames, Staines is steeped in rich history, including the boundary stones found along the river dating back from the neolithic times, and with the RHS Wisley Gardens, one of the world's greatest gardens packed with horticultural inspiration only 12 miles away, there is plenty to explore in your leisure time. There is a dazzling array of independent and chain restaurants in Staines-upon-Thames including Wagamama, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Nando’s, Itsu, Prezzo and Zizzi. If you travel a little further afield you can enjoy some of Surrey’s Michelin eateries such as The Tudor Room at Great Fosters, or The Bailiwick at Egham.

Egham Orbit, with all of its facilities, is ideal for children’s parties. The Colne Valley Regional Park is offers activities such as horse riding, cycling, and walking, or you can take to the water on the Grand Union Canal. The Thames Path runs through the Lammas Recreation Ground where there are children’s play areas, a splash park, skate park and café.
Staines is an ideal location for commuters and for those with family and friends nearby, with Central London, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire all easily reached via an excellent road network offering quick access to the M25, M4 and M3. Heathrow Airport is just 10 minutes away by car.
For commuters, Staines train station provides direct trains to London Waterloo in as little as 35 minutes. Staines is also a junction station for the Windsor line providing direct trains into the town in just 14 minutes.
Local primary schools rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted include Our Lady of the Rosary and Riverbridge. The area also benefits from several day nurseries. For older pupils, within two miles there is the popular Matthew Arnold Secondary School and the Magna Carta School. Independent schools include Staines Preparatory School and Nursery.
